Beckett is slow and strict. That's the pitch. If your Pop's centering is exceptional, Beckett's strictness rewards it with subgrade prestige that commands higher resale than equivalents from CGC. If your centering is average, Beckett will punish you.

What Beckett does well

Centering scrutiny is the strictest in the market. A 9.5 Beckett with a 10/10/10/10 subgrade panel sells at a meaningful premium over a 9.5 CGC of the same SKU — buyers know Beckett's centering bar is the highest.

Subgrade transparency. Beckett publishes all four subgrades (Centering · Corners · Edges · Surface) prominently on the slab. CGC does too, but Beckett's typography places them more readably.

BGS Pristine 10 designation. A Beckett 10 with 10/10/10/10 subgrades earns the "Pristine" black label — the rarest and highest-resale designation in the entire 2026 Funko slab market.
