Round-trip shipping cost by destination

CGC (Sarasota, FL): $15-20 outbound, $20-25 return = $35-45 total.
Beckett (Plano, TX): $15-22 out, $20-28 return = $35-50.
SWAU (St. Louis, MO): $12-18 out, $18-25 return = $30-43.
VVGS: $15-20 out + return = $35-40.
PGS: $15-20 out + return = $35-40.
Use insured Ground for declared values up to $500. Step up to Priority Mail Express for higher declared values.

Insurance — how much you actually need

Pops under $100 raw declared value: $0-3 insurance is plenty. Carrier baseline covers ~$100.
$100-500: $3-8 per shipment.
$500-2,000: $8-25 per shipment. Use carrier insurance or third-party collector insurance.
$2,000+ grails: Third-party (Collectibles Insurance Services or Hugo) for proper valuation coverage; carrier insurance maxes out lower than the slab is worth.

The all-in cost (CGC modern $100 Pop example)

$23 grading + $35 round-trip shipping + $5 insurance + $1.98 Popinspect pre-grade = $64.98 all-in.
Break-even resale: $64.98 ÷ 0.87 (eBay take) + raw value = $74.69 + $100 = $174.69 minimum graded sale to break even.

Cheapest-but-safe shipping method

USPS Priority Mail Express with signature confirmation and declared insurance — $25-35 each way for any Pop under $500. Fast, tracked, and the de facto standard among graders. Avoid UPS Ground for high-value Pops (more handling = more damage).
Box your Pop in a Pop Stack or fitted shipper, then in a larger box with 2 inches of foam on all sides. Never ship loose-in-bubble-wrap.

Is Popinspect an official grader?
No. We are pre-grade intelligence — we predict what CGC, Beckett, SWAU, VVGS, or PGS are likely to grade your Pop. The official grade still comes from them. We just make sure you only ship the ones worth shipping. See our 47-point rubric →
